Suggested CPT code and IDC-9
Suggested CPT code
HRV measurements: suggested CPT code.
CPT Coding 95921
The requirement is that at least two of the tests should be performed in order for code 95921 to apply:
95921 = Testing of autonomic nervous system function; cardiovagal innervations (parasympathetic function)
Procedure = including two or more of the following: heart rate response to deep breathing with recorded R-R interval, Valsalva ratio, and 30:15 ratio, to be reported.
SpO2 measurements: suggested CPT code
CPT Coding 94760: Noninvasive ear or pulse oximetry for oxygen saturation; single determination.
Photoelectrical Plethysmography: suggested CPT code
CPT CODING 93922: Digital Pulse wave Analysis - Arterial Circulation and Compliance
Non-invasive physiological studies of upper or lower extremity arteries, single level, bilateral (e.g. ankle/brachial indices, Doppler waveform analysis, volume plethysmography, transcutaneous oxygen tension measurement).
EIS-GS : suggested CPT code
CPT Coding 95923: The appropriate code for galvanic skin response is 95923 (Testing of autonomic nervous system function; sudomotor, including one or more of the following: quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test [QSART], silastic sweat imprint, thermoregulatory sweat test, and changes in sympathetic skin potential).
Only a single unit of 95923 regardless of the number of limbs the doctor tests should be Bill. But several payers, including some Medicare carriers, consider autonomic testing to be investigational and may not reimburse appropriately.
